Brown is bullish on California. I like this. It is practical, and a solid investment in California's future.
"Brown's proposal aims to raise income taxes on individuals who make $250,000 a year or more and boost the state sales tax by half a cent. The governor also said the state needs massive investments in mega-projects such as renewable energy, education, high-speed rail and water — all of which are exceedingly expensive."
"Putting our fiscal house in order is good stewardship and helps us regain the trust of the people. It also builds confidence in California as a place to invest and to realize one's dreams," Brown said. "Contrary to those critics who fantasize that California is a failed state, I see unspent potential and incredible opportunity."

To Whom It May Concern:
It seems to me that this article about Gov. Brown's solutions to California's increasingly unwieldy economic problems shows how flawed the current political situation is as well as the current reporting of such is.
for one, there is only the assumption of increased taxes and mega-build projects to solve any economic problems. naturally, Gov. Brown wants to increase taxes and build unwieldy and expensive projects.
why not change the way the economy works? why is that not even on the table?
naturally, the current fatcats press doesn't cover this other choice. the article merely mentions a group of concerned citizens who want to block increased taxes to anyone as the only mentioned solution to these situations.
again, why not change how the economy works?
why not talk about how a state is allowed to get into such fiscal deficits in the first place?
i believe this has something to do with unsound financing by the pork-barrel politicos, migrant workers, transfer payments from the federal government, and of course "funny money" backed by nothing except ultimately a huge deficit to the private banksters.
maybe the people of America, on whose backs freedom was given to the world, should take back the means of how money is made. it should be interest-free and backed by precious metals, as per The Constitution.
the politicians should be worried about their own back yard in terms of equality, and not pork for the few.
the illegal migrants should be put back in their own backyards to figure out their own governments' messes, and not sucking off the teat of a bloated bureacracy buoyed by nothing but red ink.
and finally, an unelected central few - the banksters to some - should never under any circumstances be allowed to dictate to the many, especially where money is concerned.
Gov. Brown should stick to L.S.D. and get out of collectivist political shams like an unequal tax system - everybody should pay the same state tax only - and frankly "only good on paper" government projects, to get the wonderful and still majestic State of California out of its increasingly worrisome financial problems.
(as for the other states, who gives a fig if they are under the same unconstitutional monetary system and proven unworkable two party system as the other states.)
take care and keep on keepin on, friends and soon-to-be friends...
