Donald Trump Going Off Into His Own Crazy Land -- And Tries Dragging U.S.A with Him

Donald Trump Disrupts the Western Spy Alliance | Observer

So among other things:

He has cancelled the White House switchboard: no calls there taken anymore. Citizens be damned.

He has kicked the mainstream press out of press briefings and/or will call on his preferred (biased) 'news' reporters. Read: propaganda being fed to the people, not traditional objective reportage.

He is abridging freedom of the press.

His spooky advisor Conway has suggested the White House will be run from
'alternative facts' (also known as, 'easily debunked lies'). And his press
secretary Spicer repeatedly said Trump did not lose the election by
millions of votes, and that the MILLIONS in the Women's Marches across
the world with anti-Trump posters actually marched in support of him. (I
was witness to two: no one was supporting him in any of the thousands
of chants or posters that I saw).

He is desperatiely trying to RE-WRITE history, and shield people (his voters less exposed multiple media) from the truth.

What he doesn't understanhd is that most people are smarter than that, and he is alienating all the swing-voter independent types who may have thought he wasn't this much of an unstable madman.

He is demeaning NATO and the EU, traditional rock-ribbed partners, and caving to Russia's interests (for reasons that seem staggeringly dark: debts to shady Russian financiers, possible blackmail, collusion, friends with oil contracts, etc.).

He is disrupting the place America has in the world order and looks to create a dog-eat-dog every nation for itself world (see link above).

He is pushing fossil fuels like a pusher. He has stock in Phillips 66 and Energy Partners who are pushing the #NoDAPL and #NoKXL destructive last gasp fossil fuel follies.

He and Tillerson ($500 BILLION in futures for Exxon [nee: Tillerson] just in Russia if somehow sanctions are removed from Russia for their aggression and war in the Ukraine and annexation of Crimea; and don't think for a minute Tillerson's resignation and sale of stock in Exxon removes his interests there: he will go back in 4-8 years with the salary of king for his efforts) and much of Trump's cabinet will sink the planet with the pollution from fossil fuels, and get even more filthy rich first.

Again, Trump and his cabinet and new fossil friends (via the GOP) will sink the planet with fossil pollution, and get more filthy rich first.

This being a sustainability blog, we'll spend I little more time on this. Coastal areas will be increasingly inundated and storm-wracked, and worldwide crops and ecosystems increasingly racked by drought and fire. And the related ravaging of the most poor unable to fend for themselves in the changing climate will all be results of TRUMPS new fixation with burning up and trying the control expansion of fossil fuels.

Moderate GOP like John McCain and Susan Collins will be remembered as sell out shills for going along with the climate denying nominees put forth by Trump. Coastal states like South Carolina and Florida will remember Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio for rolling over for these fossil fuel addicted nominees, and their battered states will remember them as traitors.

He apparently has instructed the EPA to remove the page on Climate Change(!).

He has gone to the outermost fringes of non-scientific greed-mongering for the fossil fuel industry.

He has gone forward restricting funding to groups (NGO's) worldwide that talk about abortion. What does this mean for Roe V. Wade in the U.S.?

He has talked about removing rules / funding for programs in the military that watchdog for assault and the mistreatment of women.

He is turning his back on the needs of modern women.

He is going forward with his plans for a 'wall' on the Mexican border. And going back on his word by intimating that U.S tax payers will pay for it (first, and perhaps only.)

Trump is trying to help Republicans defund Planned Parenthood, where millions choose to get their health care.

He has continued his rhetoric on a Muslim registry, and/or blocking Muslim entry.

He is putting forward an investigation of the election. He is wary that many people of color voted, and seems to consider many illegal even though all reputable sources say voter fraud is incredibly rare and is a complete non-issue.

So, he is misogynist and racist.

And curtailing freedom of the press in the White House.

And caving to Russia's geo-political desires.

And caving to the fossil-fuel industry's dark futures.

And acting like a complete Dictator. Child king some have said. Small-handed oompa-loompa Napoleon-complex narcissistic sociopath.

And he was sworn in 5 days ago.

Will he adopt a Presidential mien ever? Can he be a centrist and problem solver ever?

Or has his ego, and his choosing to consort with Putin for questionable at best reasons, and his drive for power and riches, long-ago taken over his worldview without hope for recovery and improvement?

The Madness of King Trump

Washington Post reports here

His Everest-sized insecurity and need to polarize good (if people like him) or bad (if they don't) seem to permeate *every* situation he sees. News and even seemingly all global events are seen through that prism. Great article. Such a narcissist. Defiant, insecure narcissist. It's so hard to watch.

For those of us that care about good public policy and governance it is a ridiculous show to have to endure.

Scott Pruitt's EPA Confirmation Hearing Was a Surreal Nightmare

Scott Pruitt's EPA Confirmation Hearing Was a Surreal Nightmare

Scott Pruit should be rejected. Fossil fuel shill and gimp. Absolutely unfit and inappropriate for the office.
noun
noun: shill; plural noun: shills
  1. 1.
an accomplice of a hawker, gambler, or swindler who acts as an enthusiastic customer to entice or encourage others.
    • a person who pretends to give an impartial endorsement of something in which they themselves have an interest.

"a megamillionaire who makes more money as a shill for corporate products than he does for playing basketball"
"In general, Pruitt’s finances are a serious issue of contention.
Although he swore he had no ongoing conflicts of interest, Pruitt reportedly received $215,000 in donations from executives within the energy industry. The New York Times reports that Truitt received $40,000 from poultry executives
during his campaign for attorney general, later choosing not to renew a
2003 agreement that compelled poultry plants to reduce water pollution
from poultry plants.

There are points where Pruitt came across
both as patently unqualified and shamelessly unethical, particularly
when he refused to answer simple questions. The whole thing was
disappointing, but not the least bit surprising."

ExxonMobil and Iran did business under secretary of State nominee Tillerson

ExxonMobil and Iran did business under secretary of State nominee Tillerson

Whaaat?? That has to qualify as treason. Undermining America's security and rule of law.

Let alone the post below: that burning fossil fuel is creating an increasingly dangerous planet.

NOT a RESPONSIBLE, TRUSTWORTHY SECRETARY OF STATE CANDIDATE AT ALL. #rejecttillerson

"Finding loopholes to make lucrative business deals with geo-political adversaries, while showing no clear regard for U.S. national interests, is not a resume builder for a prospective diplomat-in-chief," Menendez said in a statement to USA TODAY. "This is one of the many issues I look forward to hearing more about during the upcoming confirmation hearings.”

As Donald Trump Denies Climate Change, These Kids Die of It -- NY Times

Here

I post this story with tears running down my face. I'm sick in my stomach and my heart rate is up.
Is this the world in which we want to live?
Is this the world we must ignore while people like Trump pursue greed at all costs?

Sunset, Venice 12/20/2012

Sunset, Venice 12/20/2012
I've been thinking some about the Winter Solstice, the Mayan end of the 30,000-year-cycle on 12/21/12.

What if in fact the world did end? Even though this probably will not happen, to live consciously it is honest for us to take a bit of an inventory.

Am I happy with how I've lived my life? (Yesterday, I thought mostly yes, with some areas for improvement, as below.) Are there changes I would make?
Would I have tried to forgive those that were hostile or disappointing to me?
Would I spend more time with those I loved the most, telling them that, feeling that more?
Would I be happier, grateful for what I have, what I've experienced, the joy, the beauty in this world?

Maybe the answer is yes to all of the above.
So this time can serve as a point of rebirth for all of us. If we think about it.

Because somewhere along the line I realized I think maybe mankind deserves it. !
The way we are killing each other, killing the planet.
How selfish we are, and snotty to those around us. Petty, competitive. Why is this? Do we have to behave this way? (I say no, it greatly detracts and misdirects energy from the full-time celebration in which we could engage, the great multi-cultural, multi-rhythmic dance we can sustain here.)

Maybe God or the Great Universe is fed up, and will pull the rug out from under us.
Don't think I can say we could blame Him/Her/It.

But it probably won't happen. (Probably not! This time.)

Still we are finite on this ride.

It is a time to think, am I happy with how I've lived my life?
Hopefully most of us can say yes.

For the part of us that have a little worry, a little sadness....
This is the time to be present.
This is the time to be the person you want to be, that can die at peace, that can hope to every day be able to look yourself and the Universe in the eye and say, how beautiful, smiling, and thank you. Let's do that.
