Congress to Avoid Government Shutdown With Stopgap Budget Plan - Businessweek
This seems reasonably bipartisan, with President Obama's suggestions being used. I hope they continue in this fashion.
But in two weeks, the financial sector, where the recession began, must be made to pony up HUGE transaction fees after we bailed them out and now we have to cut taxpayer programs.
It is hard work, the price of democracy, and both parties, and special interests, will have to take some of their share of budget cutting.
But the financial sector particularly, and the wealthy, need to make their contributions. Cutting back on policies that help those that have very little must be coupled with cutting back on policies that help those with great surpluses.
