Former President George W. Bush On 'Today Show': Free Press 'Indispensable' : NPR
Well, this statement by George W. Bush is actually super on-point and resoundingly unassailable: ""I consider the media to be indispensable to democracy. We need an
independent media to hold people like me to account. Power can be very
addictive. And it can be corrosive. And it's important for the media to
call to account people who abuse their power, whether it be here or
elsewhere."
Kudos for W. Bush to out that out, and certainly that Trump should feel pretty out of his league not allowing an independent media to "hold him to account."
