Balance, the age-old mantra, rears its (subtly intuited) head yet again: cross train with muscle exercise as well as cardio. As well as flexibility, to keep functioning at your higher levels as long as you can. Sedentary can kill. These are self-fulfilling prophecies. And it's never to late to work on muscle tone and get the added benefits! Note to self: prioritize the gym and weights at home higher, please!!
