We're not alone... Bob Herbert is leaving the NYT to "...write a book and expand [his] efforts on behalf of working people, the poor and others who are struggling in our society."

After starting his last column, "So here we are pouring shiploads of cash into yet another war, this time in Libya, while simultaneously demolishing school budgets, closing libraries, laying off teachers and police officers, and generally letting the bottom fall out of the quality of life here at home."

And ending it with, "New ideas and new leadership have seldom been more urgently needed."

If we don't change some national priorities soon, I see an "Egypt" coming up from the bottom, maybe from our generation, maybe from the new one.

I for one would be ready to join.
